Storytelling that sparks imagination, warms the heart, and connects us together.
About Me
Hola!
I’m Alexandria King, a “true-true” Bahamian, raised on the island of New Providence by old-school island parents who filled my world with music, generosity, and deep-rooted compassion.
Funny enough, until grade eight, I hated books. Reading was a struggle—I dealt with undetected dyslexia, illiteracy, and the embarrassment of reading out loud. Simply put, reading and writing were not my favorite things to do. But there was this girl in my grade level who carried the Twilight book by Stephenie Meyer around like it was a heart monitor. One day, for reasons I still don’t understand, I picked it up—and everything changed.
I had always been a daydreamer, lost in my own imagination, but reading opened a door I didn’t know existed. It allowed me to step into the imagination of others. Stories stopped being intimidating and instead became a way to explore, feel, and connect. I could not get enough.
I was drawn to books about real people navigating real life—especially love and friendship. Those stories shaped me, and now, as a writer of children and young adult books, I hope to do the same for others. I want to write stories that spark the imagination and you don’t want to put down
My dreams is that my stories are not just remembered but they’re felt.
You’re more than a reader…
I write to reach people from all walks of life, reminding them they are not alone. My stories don’t offer fairy-tale fixes, but they do shine a light on resilience, hope, and the strength found in real struggles. I want readers to see themselves in my characters—their thoughts, victories, and messy in-between moments—and know that life is still worth living, love is still worth the risk, and yes, people can be disappointing, but not everyone.
At the same time, I love “feel-good” stories. Honestly, isn’t life hard enough? Sometimes, we all need to escape into a world of possibilities, adventure, and ease.
